About Johannes and minded
One developer building calmer tools for a more intentional relationship with technology.
Hi, I'm Johannes.
I'm a web developer based in Berlin and the creator of minded (and Super Productivity).
I built minded because I found myself constantly falling into the trap of "just checking" my phone or browser, only to lose 30 minutes to a feed I didn't care about.
I wanted a tool that wasn't just a blocker, but a reminder. A digital nudge to ask: "Is this what you want to be doing right now?"
I write about digital habits from the perspective of a developer and product user—not as a clinician. Research-led guides link to their sources, distinguish evidence from personal experience, and avoid diagnosis. Our editorial policy explains the process and how to request a correction.
Our Principles
Attention is your most valuable resource.
Many social media platforms are optimized to capture and monetize attention. We build tools to help you defend yours.
Friction can be good.
Mindless scrolling happens when access is too easy. We introduce gentle friction—a pause, a breath, a question—to help you make a conscious choice.
Data belongs to you.
Your mood, your reflections, and your habits are private. minded operates offline-first and doesn't sell your data.
Technology should serve life, not replace it.
Our goal isn't to keep you in our app. It's to help you get off your screen and back to the real world.
