Website Logs

This website is a static Astro site. It does not require an account, and it does not include analytics, advertising pixels, or social tracking scripts. The web server may create standard access logs, such as requested URL, timestamp, IP address, user agent, and referrer. These logs are processed to deliver the site, maintain security, diagnose errors, and prevent abuse. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: the legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable website.

Local App Data

minded stores your mood and energy check-ins, reflections, intentions, selected focus durations, configured distracting sites or apps, streak and progress state, drafts, usage statistics, and app preferences in browser or device storage. minded has no application backend and does not send this data to minded's own servers, so minded does not receive or have access to it. The Chrome extension stores its main feature data in Chrome's sync storage and per-site session data in local extension storage. When Chrome Sync is enabled, Chrome may synchronize that feature data between browsers signed in to the same Google Account. On Android, eligible local app data may be included in cloud backup or device-to-device transfer. Google, another backup provider, or a device manufacturer may control those platform copies under its own policies and your platform settings. Local feature data is processed to provide the app features you choose to use. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where processing is necessary to provide requested app functionality, and Article 6(1)(a) GDPR where you grant an optional permission or enable an optional feature based on consent.

Chrome Extension and Android Permissions

The Chrome extension uses permissions needed for the mindful new-tab experience, settings, timers, and intervention pages for configured distracting sites. The current Android mindful-pause flow requires minded's accessibility service to observe app and window changes and Display over other apps to show the intervention. Android grants an accessibility service broad access to app and window events, including the technical ability to retrieve window content. minded processes foreground-app and window-event information on the device to run the interventions you configure. Optional Usage Access is used to validate foreground-app detection and calculate today's time in selected apps. minded also reads the installed-app list so you can choose which apps to configure, uses notifications for its foreground service and detection-health alerts, and may request an exemption from battery optimization for reliable background operation. The app does not send this feature data to minded. You can withdraw permissions at any time in Android settings, after which the related feature may stop working.

minded does not request, collect, or use location data. minded does not sell personal data, share it with advertisers or marketing partners, serve ads, or build advertising or marketing profiles. Chrome, Android, backup providers, and device manufacturers may process the platform data described in this policy according to your settings and their own policies.

Support Requests

If you contact minded by email, your email address, message content, and any information you choose to include are processed so the request can be answered and follow-up questions can be handled. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for requests related to using minded and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for the legitimate interest in responding to other inquiries and keeping necessary support records.

Recipients and Service Providers

minded operates no application backend and does not send feature data to the developer. It does not use analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or telemetry services. Third parties that may process limited data under their own privacy policies are: the website's hosting provider, which may create standard server access logs; the email provider used to answer support requests; Google services involved in Chrome Sync, Android cloud backup, the Chrome Web Store, and Google Play; and device manufacturers or other platform providers involved in backup or device-to-device transfer. These providers may process installation, permission, synced-storage, backup, or transfer data according to your settings. minded charges nothing and processes no payment data. Where any of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area, they do so under their own transfer mechanisms, such as adequacy decisions or EU standard contractual clauses.

Retention

App data remains in browser or device storage until you delete it using the relevant app or platform controls. Chrome retains synchronized copies according to your Google Account and Chrome Sync settings. Backup providers retain Android backups according to their policies; Google states that its Android device backup is deleted when backup is turned off and may be deleted after 57 days of device inactivity. Data transferred to another device remains there as local app data until it is cleared or the app is uninstalled on that device. Website logs are kept only as long as needed for security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention, then deleted or anonymized. Support emails are retained only as long as needed to respond, maintain necessary records, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations.

Data Deletion

minded does not keep a copy of your app data on its own servers. Removing on-device data and any platform-managed copies requires separate steps:

• Android app: open your device Settings, go to Apps (or Apps & notifications), select minded, open Storage, and tap "Clear storage" / "Clear data" to erase app data from that device. Uninstalling the app also removes its on-device data. Repeat this on any destination device that received a transferred copy. To remove a cloud backup, use your backup provider's controls. For Backup by Google, Google documents how to delete a device backup; this is a device-level action and may affect backup data for other apps. Manufacturer backup and transfer copies must be managed through that provider's controls.
• Chrome extension: remove minded from every Chrome profile and device that holds a local copy by opening chrome://extensions and choosing "Remove." Chrome extension storage is not cleared by the standard "Clear browsing data" controls. If Chrome Sync stored a copy in your Google Account, Chrome's documented Delete data control removes synced Chrome information account-wide, not only minded data, and can affect other browsers and Chrome data. Review Chrome's confirmation carefully before using it.
• Website: the site does not require an account or store personal app data; clearing your browser's cache and cookies removes anything your browser kept for it.

There is no minded account to close, because minded does not require one. If you would like help using these deletion controls, want any support emails you have sent to be erased, or want to make a data deletion request under the GDPR, email contact@minded.today and your request will be handled within 30 days.

Your Rights

Subject to the GDPR's requirements, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent for the future at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, including the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

No Automated Decisions

minded does not use personal data from this website or the app for automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects.
